MetaGrove can be used to create XMP Template files which can be used to automate
much of the process of adding XMP data to image files or other digital assets.
MetaGrove Template files can also be used to add XMP data to digital assets using Adobe Bridge in batch mode.
- Create custom schema in MetaGrove
- Save schema
- Open any Adobe Creative Suite application where you
have MetaGrove installed, and fill in your new schema
that you developed in step one
- After completing metadata entry, save the schema as a template
- Locate the MetaGrove XMP template in:
Win XP:C:/Documents and Settings/User/Application
Data/MetaGrove/Metadata Templates
Win Vista: C:/Users/Admin User/AppData/Roaming/MetaGrove/Metadata
Templates
Mac OS X: /Users/$USER/Library/Application Support/MetaGrove/Metadata Templates
Where $USER is a given User account on the computer
- Copy the MetaGrove XMP Template to:
Win XP: C:/Documents and Settings/UserApplication
Data/Adobe/XMP
Win Vista: C:/Users/Admin User/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/XMP
Mac OS X: /Users/$USER/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP
Where $USER is a given User account on the computer
- Open Adobe Bridge
- Select all the files you want to batch process at once
- From within Adobe Bridge select the Menu Item Tools -> Replace Metadata -> "YOUR TEMPLATE"
- Your metadata is automatically applied to every file through your created template
