| 1.) Portability
| Assests Which Are Easily Transportable From One Location To Another.
Is the digital asset portable? If an image file or other digital asset is moved from one location to another, would that digital asset still be
searchable and retrieveable? If not, how much work, i.e. time and money, would be
involved in making that happen? Our customers count on MetaGrove to provide this seamless portability
for their digital assets.
In a typical workflow if a company becomes disenchanted with their DAM, upon acquiring another
system the company would need to re-sync all of these assets, and in
that process some of those assets may become unretrievable.
Using MetaGrove to embed metadata into an asset
can often solve many of the problems encountered when assets are moved from one location to another.
|
| 2.) Assets Can Be Pre-Populated With Metadata Early In The Workflow
| If your business is constantly receiving images from
outside sources, wouldn’t it be great if those images were
already tagged with XMP metadata? MetaGrove can be used to create
custom metadata panels, and once those panels are created, they can be sent to the business or photographer
employed by your company. That business or photographer could then
populate the images with metadata using the custom MetaGrove panels. This
saves time, money, and adds value to the asset very early in the workflow process.
Most importantly, those who are often most intimately involved with the images are the same
individuals who are tagging the images.
|
| 3.) Accurate Entry Of Critical Metadata At The Content Creation Point
| One of the benefits of using MetaGrove is that one is able
to enter metadata from the time the asset is first
created or at the content creation point. Many DAMs
allow for metadata entry once the asset has been
ingested. MetaGrove provides for the entry of
data by those who are often most familiar with the
image or file.
|
| 4.) MetaGrove Provides For The Addition Of Metadata Throughout The Various Phases Of The Workflow
| If a workflow involves more than a single
person, MetaGrove enables additional metadata to be added as the
digital asset moves throughout the workflow.
Because a MetaGrove Dialog File may have up to fifteen panels,
MetaGrove provides a way for each person involved in the
workflow process to add metadata to the asset. As the image moves along
the workflow, each individual may add different and distinct metadata to that asset. At
the end of the workflow, an individual might then verify that the metadata
in the image is correct and that the image is designated for the
correct destination.
